I trust you have all have had a great summer holiday and are well rested for the new term. I am just between two little holiday breaks at present and have taken the opportunity to send a quick email with our main dates and activities from September, make a note but remember some things are limited numbers..
Our programme remains very busy, big and bold and we trust the coming cub year will build on the great fun we have had in the past. As the man said "I don't shine if you don't shine" and we achieve great things because we have fantastic leaders reinforced with parent support; commitment and help. Parents are reminded to do your bit in the next term. Each family should provide an adult helper for one pack evening a term (or twice a year minimum). Everybody agreed to this when joining, Shere Khan will champion parent help and provide a roster, please support this. Cubs are required to show commitment at all times, Akela turns youngsters away weekly because his pack is full, make sure we are all doing our bit.
Key messages for the coming month:
· First night back will be 2nd September
· We are full and will only take existing Beavers for the foreseeable future. Stop telling your friends how good we are they won't get in. Bagheera is the custodian of my waiting list which comprises mainly of 32nd Beavers and rich generous people or fantastic helpers/leader or people capable of winning swimming gala's, chess competitions for the pack.
· We have an awesome programme for the run up until Christmas, however some key extra Pack activities have to be restricted numbers. District Colchester zoo trip (21 16), Phasles Wood Halloween activity camp(36) and Charlie and the chocolate factory (20+)will all have limited places. Chocolate factory tickets will be offered first to Cubs who attend church parade on the 14th September.
· We are having a special themed evening on September 23rd in the old farm house at Gilwell park. The Pack is very lucky to have been given access to this unique building for the evening. We intend to remain in the hall for the rest of the month.
· Your Lego minifigures are ready to purchase. Each figure is £12 with a £4 discount for second sibling minifigures. All cubs in the pack last term have their own minifigure, these are wonderful personalised mementoes. You can also borrow the file for the group Lego photographs should you wish to print one.

· An embargo still remains on Cubs helping at Beaver meetings without their parents in attendance. This is for safety reasons.
· Church parade is on Sunday 14th September, please support this activity.
· We have a very limited stock of Colchester Zoo tickets, this is a District event which includes coach transport. Your pack will be sending leaders. Tickets are sold on a first come basis and cost £20. When they are gone.........
