“Running the very best pack possible”

What happened to June, it seems to have rushed by. And some key points before the fast arriving end of term.

    1. Cubs who bring their completed wooden calendars, painted will gain a DIY activity badge.

    2. Chasing the last two cubs for Cub camp and it looks like a great turnout and should be a really good camp. Bring insect spray Danemead insects love cubs. Bring two round circles of cardboard for a shield. Please check when you drop your child off as to where you can help.

    3. Swimming Gala is at Forest School pool on Thursday 7th July the following Cubs are in our team; Isla, Edward, Hannah, Hannah Kealan, Ben and Harry. Parents please contact me by email to confirm their attendance. We wish them all the best of luck.

    4. We are climbing boulders at the boulder park on Tuesday 7th a note has already been sent out, please car share and or meet at the co-op car park should be able to transport cubs.

    5. Kubadoo is at Hargreaves campsite on Saturday the 16th July, please note this summer has been very wet so far and the Fairlop waters sloop gates were recently opened to stop the waters from overflowing. Hargreaves campsite is in the area floodplain and currently under four foot of water. We will keep you updated.

    6. Part of the Cub centenary celebrations is County Cub camp 23rd-25th September at Brentwood. Our Pack will attend and will take 25 Cubs on a first come basis. This very large camp costs £45 and has some excellent activities. We will not be having our Halloween camp in October this year.

    7. Our group AGM is on Tuesday 19th July at Gilwell Park, all parents should attend. Refreshments and food is provided.

    8. We are bag packing to subsidise our group’s activities on Sunday 4th September at Sainsbury’s Lower hall, all uniform members need to attend.

We have three “black lists” in the pack:

Cubs who do not camp (two cubs) Cubs who do not hike (six cubs)Parents who don’t help (three families)

I mention this for two reasons, firstly if you are on any of these lists your child is missing out. Secondly our scout group is oversubscribed and not allowing those who don’t full participate in the group to progress to the next section, is an easy way to help resolve our lack of spaces issue. This is not something I control.
