“Happy 2017”

2016 was a great year to be a Cub with the centenary celebrations and special events it will be a challenge to have as much fun this year but we love a challenge. And we have had a really good start to 2017, we had a well supported New Years Hike and a pantomime visit before we have even got back properly. Between these events I have seen half the pack and hopefully we will have got every cub back after the holiday.

We have a great programme for our cubs in the next few months. Mince pie rally on Saturday 21st, where we see if we can retain the Trophy. Winter Camp at Gilwell Park on 10th -13th February. And plans are being made for Star wars Bunker overnight on10th March one of the very best 32nd activities which most cubs will only get one chance to experience. .

We are strong because you all help.

The shape of things to come:

Mince pie Rally is a great Cub craft day on Saturday 21st January

All district packs complete in a craft competition and we have won this event for the past two years but our competitors have grown over the past year and we can't expect to win as easily this year. All cubs attending will have a chance to earn activity badges. older Beavers are welcome at this event.

The event runs from10-4 and cost £10 which includes a light lunch. Normal price is £13 however our 32nd Scout is discounting the cost for our cubs. Cubs come as they are, no coats, no packed lunches just uniform and a few coppers to spend on sweets. Numbers are needed in advance so sign up on the front desk.

Cub Camp Gilwell Park 10th -13th February

We have a long tradition of running successful indoor winter camps at Gilwell Park. Camps are one of the best activities the pack offers young people and our top cubs can end up with more than 20 nights away. Most local cub packs cannot match this. Camp takes a lot of organisation and numbers are needed now please. We are restricted on numbers, we can accept day visitors and accommodate cubs who need to attend outside team sports.

The event runs from 7pm Friday until 2pm Sunday and cost £45 which has not increased for a number of years and is heavily subsidised by our Scout group. Numbers are needed in advance so sign up on the front desk.
