32nd Pack Chingford

"Running the very best pack possible"

December 2013

News Letter

Statistics 44 cubs + 2 visiting Beaver 6 leaders 9 core helpers

November seems to have flown by. The winning Team at County quiz, Remembrance service, fireworks, Swimming, Matilda, Camp, parish Bazaar and Safety badge part one. Lots going on, over 200 badges earned and all our Cubs very busy, thank you to all those who have supported the pack in whatever way. Our shadow pack project seems to have been successful however it's going to be nice being back together in the hall for the Christmas run up. Looking back to this time last year we have increased cub numbers by 30%, sent six cubs onto Scouts and only had three Cubs leave before their time. This month a further Six Cubs are moving on to Scouts which will mean a promotion avalanche and two Beavers will be visiting the Pack. Number will dip slightly for a few months and this will make the pack a little less hectic which is good. The following is a rundown of planned programme into 2014, as usual all events are full uniformed.

Tuesday 3rd December Safety badges Part 2

This week the pack will complete the second part of our safety badges. Cubs may have been given a task sheet, this needs completing before their badge can be given.

Any family in need of a free smoke detector should speak up as the fire brigade has kindly offered to supply these. We will take names next week.

We will hold a Christmas hat competition and award some very nice prizes for the best judged homemade hat. Remember think big, extravagant and exciting. No charge for this pack event.

Two 32nd Scout Group youth members have won places in the English contingent for the summer 2015 scout world jamboree in Japan. This is a fantastic achievement for our Scout Group and a wonderful adventure for the boys concerned. It is highly expensive, costing over £3,200 each, any help with raising this money and enabling them to reach Japan would be appreciated.
